The Batman: Robert Pattinson is doing his homework before donning the Caped Crusader's uniform; DEETS INSIDE

Robert Pattinson is the next in line to get a chance at playing the iconic DC superhero, Batman. Matt Reeves has chosen the Twilight (2008) star as his pick for the Caped Crusader and the fans have had polarising reactions on the casting choice. While some believe he isn't right for the part, others say he should be given a fair chance. Along with Robert, Zoe Kravitz has been cast as Catwoman and Paul Dano will be playing the villain, Riddler.

Meanwhile, Robert is doing all the necessary homework required before he wears the superhero costume and begins shooting for The Batman. While speaking on Variety's podcast The Big Ticket, Robert revealed, "I'm glad I've had quite a lot of time. I didn't realize there were so many Batman comics. Hundreds and thousands. But I've been reading a lot of those, and not really just the kind of classics," and added, "I just like reading the sort of individual periodicals. It's nice to kind of see the absolutely contemporary ones."

Matt recently confirmed via Twitter that Jeffrey Wright will be playing Commissioner James Gordon. Apparently, there will be a group of iconic Batman villains who will be up against the Dark Knight. The shooting of The Batman is said to kickstart this month at Warner Bros. Studios, Leavesden.

The Batman is slated to release on June 25, 2021.
