Batman: Milo Ventimiglia was told he was too OLD to play the Cape Crusader
This Is Us fame Milo Ventimiglia was initially in the running to replace Ben Affleck as the next Batman in Matt Reeves' directorial. However, Warner Brothers felt that the actor was too old to play the Cape Crusader.
Batman is a superhero played by many Hollywood actors in cinematic history. While some soared high like Michael Keaton and Christian Bale, some tumbled down massively like George Clooney and Ben Affleck. Ben, in paticular was met with massive displeasure as he donned the black suit for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016), Suicide Squad (2016) and Justice League (2017). Now, a standalone film on Batman is in the works with Matt Reeves on the steering wheel and Robert Pattinson of Twilight fame taking up the baton from Affleck as the newly renewed Batman.
But, did you know that a This Is Us star was also in the running to be the next Batman? It was Milo Ventimiglia, who plays Jack Pearson in This Is Us had thrown in his name into the hat as the possible contender for the next Batman. However, Warner Brothers felt that the actor was very old to play the Cape Crusader. "Do I see myself in a cape and cowl. Warner Brothers didn’t. They said, ‘Ventimiglia, you’re too old,'" Milo shared with Variety's The Big Ticket podcast.
"It’s okay. It doesn’t matter. By the way, I’m kind of busy," 42-year-old Ventimiglia stressed.
