Jaden Smith on Robert Pattinson: He will be the best Batman

Rumours had been rife for the longest time regarding the casting of a new Batman, after Ben Affleck. Given how fans were not extremely happy with Ben's portrayal of the Caped Crusader, Twitterati went on a rampage over the new casting rumours. Many names popped up, out of which, one was Twilight (2008) star, Robert Pattinson. However, for weeks, there was no confirmation. Eventually, Matt Reeves, who is directing the Batman solo-film took to Twitter to reveal that Robert was indeed going to play Batman.

Pattinson's selection as the next Batman left Twitterati divided as some were happy, while some felt that just like Ben, Robert too did not fit the bill. However, the actor has found a major fan in Will Smith's son and rapper, Jaden Smith. While talking to The Rolling Stone, Jaden, who is a major fan of Batman was all compliments for Pattinson. "Oh my gosh, I don’t even know what to say. Amazing things are happening every day that you don’t even know. I don’t even know. I’m at a loss for words with how excited I am for him. It has to happen. It has to fucking happen. He will be the best Batman. I’m losing my fucking shit," Smith gushed.

Meanwhile, Matt Reeves' directorial is tentatively titled The Batman and is reportedly going to release on June 25, 2021. Just like Christopher Nolan's Batman (2005-2012) trilogy, Robert will star in three Batman movies. Apparently, the storyline will be set in the formative years of Bruce Wayne, hence a younger actor like Pattinson was cast.
