Batman actor Robert Pattinson discussed Cape Crusader with Christopher Nolan & here's what they spoke about
In a new interview, Robert Pattinson revealed that he discussed Batman with Christopher Nolan on the sets of Tenet. The actor spills the beans about their discussion.
The world found out about Robert Pattinson filling Ben Affleck's shoes as the new Batman a few months ago through news reports with Warner Bros making the announcement. However, Pattinson learnt about his casting when he was on the sets of Tenet. It was his first day on the sets of the movie. Yes, Pattinson was on the sets of Dark Knight series director Christopher Nolan's movie. So there was bound to be discussions about Batman between the actor and filmmaker. Did they talk about Nolan's experience of working on Batman? Did Nolan give him tips?
Speaking to Variety, Pattinson revealed that they spoke about the Batsuit. The iconic suit was once fitted on Christian Bale. Affleck then suited up in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League. With Pattinson donning the suit for Matt Reeves' The Batman, he revealed he asked Nolan about how he could move around in the Batsuit.
"I was like, 'What a coincidence this is happening. It’s absolutely crazy,'" revealing his reaction on finding out about his casting on sets of Tenet. "I was talking about things to do with the Batsuit. How to get more movements in it," Pattinson revealed.
Pattinson revealed he tried on the suit during the audition. Sharing his experience, he said, "I put it on. I remember saying to Matt, ‘It does feel quite transformative!’ He was like, ‘I would hope it does! You’re literally in the Batsuit.’ You do feel very powerful immediately. And it’s pretty astonishing, something that is incredibly difficult to get into, so the ritual of getting into it is pretty humiliating. You’ve got five people trying to shove you into something. Once you’ve got it on, it’s like, ‘Yeah, I feel strong, I feel tough, even though I had to have someone squeezing my butt cheeks into the legs,’” he said.
