Barack Obama GUSHES about Michelle’s inauguration look; Says ‘I understand why you are a fashion icon’
Barack Obama recently reflected on former first lady Michelle Obama’s inauguration look and said that he understands why Michelle is a fashion icon.
Ex-POTUS Barack Obama recently said something about his wife and former first lady’s inauguration outfit that has us all swooning over the couple. During a virtual book club for his memoir A Promised Land via ET, the former political head described his feeling on Michelle’s much-loved outfit from the Presidential Inauguration last month for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.
“I don’t know what it is about y’all, with Michelle and her belts,” Barack said after being asked his opinion on the iconic mahogany look. “I asked Michelle about it at dinner the other night. I said, ‘Listen baby, you are gorgeous. You know, I understand completely why you are a fashion icon.’ But, I said, ‘Was your hair different? Because it didn’t look that different.’”
The former President also joked that while he doesn’t understand what made the look so popular, he understand that Michelle is a fashion icon. “I don’t have an answer other than just knowing she looks good and looks better than me. I understand that.” If you missed it, Michelle wore a maroon power suit by Sergio Hudson, the same designer who was responsible for new Vice President Kamala Harris’ look at the inauguration.
If you missed it, lots happened at the presidential inauguration in January. Amanda Gorman who presented a beautiful poem at the 2021 Presidential Inauguration, opened up on what was happening behind the scenes at the ceremony and revealed that Michelle had to yell at the former POTUS! In an interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, she said “I remember Michelle Obama, like, being close,” Amanda recalled. “And she kind of kept yelling at Barack, like, ‘Stop hugging people. Stop getting close to people.’” Amanda continued, “And then when I was done, she kind of like pushed him out the way and gave me the just the biggest, warmest Michelle Obama hug.”
