Avengers: Endgame: Will Robert Downey Jr star in Iron Man 4?
With Tony Stark's fate already sealed in Avengers: Endgame, one wonders if Robert Downey Jr. will ever make an Iron Man 4. Here's what RDJ feels about his fate in the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) post Avengers: Endgame.
Robert Downey Jr. embarked on uncharted territories when he took up the role of playing Tony Stark aka Iron Man. It was this 2008 movie, which was directed by Jon Favreau and also starred Gwyneth Paltrow as Pepper Potts, that kickstarted the ambitious MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) journey. Who would have thought that the journey would last a decade for RDJ and his band of Avengers? After Iron Man, came Iron Man 2 (2010) and Iron Man 3 (2013). 2019 saw the release of Avengers: Endgame, which ended the character arc of our beloved superhero.
This begs to differ; will there be an Iron Man 4 starring RDJ? While the odds are stacked against it, given Iron Man's fate in Avengers: Endgame, we can't help but imagine if there was even the slightest of a possibility. In a 2018 interview with Entertainment Weekly, RDJ had spoken about what would happen post Avengers: Endgame. The Oscar-nominated actor stated that he would no like to overstay his welcome in the MCU. "I’m definitely a hang up your jersey before they boo you off the court type guy, just because I still have an appropriate fear of embarrassment," Robert had said.
