Avengers: Endgame director REVEALS Robert Downey Jr had mixed emotions about Tony Stark's end

Avengers: Endgame released last Friday and hit a double century in just five days, at the Indian markets. Starring Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Chris Evans as Captain America, Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow and Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Avengers: Endgame was the culmination of a decade-long journey for the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe). The movie was heavily focused on the OG 6 and was the perfect swan song for them.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, when the Russo Brothers (Joe Russo and Anthony Russo) were asked about discussing the character arcs with the OG 6, Anthony got candid about their conversation with RDJ. Since it was Robert who kickstarted the MCU journey as Tony Stark, the brothers wanted to make sure that the actor was comfortable with Iron Man's storyline in Avengers: Endgame. They met with the Oscar nominee to pitch the arc. "I think Downey may have had mixed emotions about thinking about [where Tony Stark ends up in Endgame], but I think at the end of the day, he totally accepted it," Anthony revealed.

*SPOILERS AHEAD* Saying goodbye to Tony Stark in Avengers: Endgame was heartbreaking for the MCU fans and we can only imagine what Robert must have felt when reading his character arc for the first time. The Russo Brothers had revealed in an earlier interview that Robert was the only actor to have read the entire script of Avengers: Endgame.
