On The Ground MV: BLACKPINK's Rosé channels hurt & heartbreak in this operatic fantasy song

BLACKPINK's golden-voiced vocalist, Rosé has finally released her much-awaited solo debut album, R today at 2 pm KST. R has two tracks, lead single On The Ground and B-side track, Gone. Though we wish there were more songs to her debut solo discography, nonetheless, we are elated to listen to Rosé's angelic vocals in any form or shape! Both the songs in Rosé's debut album are in English, perhaps to honour her Australian roots and the magnanimous influence, artists like Gummy have had on her. BLINKS are ecstatic and have taken over world-wide Twitter trends with keywords like, 'On The Ground', 'Rosé' and 'BLACKPINK'.

On The Ground depicts a message of self-reflection and self-love. The lyrics describe a star who has devoted her life to be at the top of her game, but eventually, she realizes that a person's worth is always determined by one's inner character and how one should accept themselves for who one is. The song is an operatic fantasy with staggering sets, swirling bling and fabric and suffering in theatrical style. It is heartbreak, in an extravagant style! Yet, Rosé's honeyed vocals, pierce through the glimmer of bling and shine. You feel for, her pain and her sorrows, as she suffers in beautiful clothes and soft lightning. It has all the elements of an exquisite Kpop MV, yet Rosé's magical vocals, mellow down the shimmer in it.

On The Ground is produced by Teddy and 24 in collaboration with producers Jorgen Odegard, Ojivolta, and Jon Bellion. The album also features Gone, a bitter-sweet melo track, centred around love and separation. Rosé performed Gone, for fans worldwide for their online concert, THE SHOW.
