EXCLUSIVE - Rani Mukerji: I am more than happy to do more films because I love acting myself
Rani Mukerji's Hichki is doing well at the box-office. The film has grossed about Rs 20 crore at the ticket windows and is continuing to mint money.
Rani Mukerji's latest outing Hichki has won hearts all over the country. People are extremely happy that they got to see their favourite Rani back on the big screen after a gap of three years.
Recently, we caught up with Rani for a quick interaction to celebrate the success of Hichki. When we asked the talented actor about her success mantra, she stated, "There is particularly no success mantra, you have to follow your heart. I have always followed my heart in terms of the decision of the films I have done. Sometimes, they have worked and sometimes they have not. But I have never changed the way I think instinctively towards the film or a role. If I have to give a definition to my success mantra, I would say listen to your inner self."
Earlier during a video interview with Pinkvilla, Rani said, "If I realise that my audience does not want to see me anymore, then I think I need to pack my bag and just take care of my child."
Now that the movie is a success, we asked Rani about the statement and how happy she is after audience reaction. She replied, "It feels amazing. Because this kind of adulation and love is because of which I am a star today. It is because of my audience that I do exist, without them I would be no one. Hichki has become such a huge success makes me feel wanted again. In spite of the fact that I was away for a few years because of my motherhood, it has not made any difference in their love for me. I am more than happy to do more films because I love acting myself."
So, does box-office numbers matter to Rani? To which she said, "It matters a lot. When you talk about box-office numbers you are directly relating to the number of people that are going and watching your film. Movies are made for it to be seen by a lot of people. So, when a lot of people see your work, that's the biggest validation."
