England's Eoin Morgan to play for Dhaka Dynamites in Bangladesh Premier League in December
Eoin Morgan will play for Dhaka in the BPL in what will be his first outing in the tournament.
Bangladesh Premier League side Dhaka Dynamites have signed England's Eoin Morgan as their first overseas signing for the upcoming edition that starts from December 2019.
"We have signed Morgan for the upcoming edition of BPL considering his vast experience in shorter format cricket," Dynamites chief executive Obaid Nizam told Cricbuzz. "We are expecting him to be available for the whole season."
Morgan, who was the skipper when England lifted their maiden World Cup title last week is also in contention to lead the side. The other option for the skipper will be Shakib Al Hasan.
The Dhaka Dynamites won their lone BPL title in 2016, when Shakib captained the team. In the next two years, they failed to lift the trophy, despite reaching the finals. "We have to think about it (captaincy) because you know we have Shakib with us and he is leading the side for quite some time," Nizam said.
This will be Morgan's first tryst with the BPL. However, he had earlier played in the Dhaka Premier League in 2014, turning out for Legends of Rupganj in the 50-over edition.
