Australia continued their dominance in World Cup

A superb display of cricket on Tuesday handed Australian cricket team a mega win against arch-rivals England at Lord’s in the ICC World Cup 2019. The Men in Yellow completely dominated both with the bat and ball to register their sixth win of the tournament. While England with this defeat has toughened their journey to semifinals. There were many notetaking moments in the match, let’s go through the highlights.

Finch continues his good run

Australian captain, Aaron Finch has been in top form in the World Cup. He has been scoring runs on a consistent basis. The opener played one more top knock today against England. He provided Aussies a much-needed good start, scoring 100 in 116 balls. The right-handed batsman was well supported by in-form David Warner who made 53 runs. After their dismissal, Australian batting fell apart as they ended up posting only 285 runs on board.

Behrendorff and Starc rattle England

Englishmen found themselves in trouble earlier in the chase. Young Jason Behrendorff sent back James Vince in the very first over while Mitchell Starc removed Joe Root after a few overs. Thereon, the hosts kept losing wickets as Australians bowled quite well. Although Ben Stokes came to rescue in between, scoring 89 runs, however, as Behrendorff and Starc came back into the attack, the things again changed.

The duo shared nine wickets amongst them to take Men in Yellow home easily by 64 runs. Behrendorff scalped five-wicket-haul and Starc picked four wickets.
