Poll results: Salman’s the ultimate action star in B’wood!
We asked Indiatimes Movies surfers to vote for the best action hero in Bollywood. Here are the results.
Salman Khan, the guy with a cute face, killer smile and a stud body was voted as the best action hero bagging 38% votes. Garv, Tere Naam, Karan Arjun are some the movies where the hunk kicked some asses.
Akshay Kumar – the actor who has shifted to comedy and romantic roles is still a fave when it comes to action. No doubt then that he stood at the second position bagging 35% votes. Tarazu, Sabse Bada Khiladi, Insaaf and the very latest Chandni Chowk To China Remain to be Akshay’s most popular action flicks.
This Punjab da puttar is loved and adored as an action star. In his films, Sunny Deol is often seen terrifying the goons and dons by just his thunderous voice. His dialogues from Damini - “Yeh Dhai kilo ka haath jab kisipe padtha hai na...toh aadmi ut-tha nahi uthh jaata hai” and “Tareekh Pe Tareekh, Tareekh Pe Tareekh” are very popular. The actor won 14% votes from Indiatimes Movies surfers.
Ajay Devgan was voted as the fourth best winning 6% votes. The actor has portrayed action hero roles in notable films like Jigar, Vijaypath, Diljale and Major Saab. With Ishq and Pyar Toh Hona Hi Tha, Ajay Devgan forayed into comedy and romantic roles.
Bollywood’s macho man Sanjay Dutt never fails to make his presence felt... thanks to his bulked up frame! He is also regarded as the Indian Hulk Hogan. Sanjay Dutt’s ‘Musaabhai’ character in Plan and ‘Billa’ character in Musafir was a big hit with his fans. The films presented a don in a very stylish avatar, wearing Armani suit, aviator glasses, smoking a cigar and rolex watch! Dutt received 5% votes by India Times surfers on the best action hero in Bollywood poll.
As they say ‘out of sight is out of mind’ it seems the same way Suneil Shetty – counted amongst one of the most successful action heroes in Bollywood seems to be forgotten. The actor was has starred in some entertaining action flicks like Anth, Mohra, Rakshak, Vinashak and Border bagged just 2% votes that put him on the sixth position.
