The defending champions, Australia will aim to win the game against South Africa to maintain their position at the top of the points table. If India wins against Sri Lanka and the South African team defeats the Aussies, then the Men in Blue will move ahead in the points table to finish at the top and will face New Zealand in the semi-finals. However, as far as South Africa is concerned, they have had a below par World Cup with only two wins so far in the tournament. Let’s have a look at their key players.

1. Mitchell Starc (Australia) – Mitchell Starc who played a crucial role in the team’s 2015 World Cup triumph has been in exceptional form in the on-going World Cup tournament as well. He is the leading wicket taker in the tournament so far with 24 wickets in his hand and has been the most reliable bowler for the defending champions. In the previous match against the Black Caps, Mitchell Starc claimed a 5 wicket haul and gave away only 26 runs in his 9.4 overs leading the team to a huge 86 runs victory at Lord’s.

2. Faf du Plessis (South Africa) - South Africa won their previous match against the Lankans by 9 wickets and it was the Skipper who smashed the highest runs for the team. Faf du Plessis scored a brilliant unbeaten 96 runs in only 103 deliveries with an exceptional strike rate of 93.20. The Skipper has led the team from the front in various occasions in the tournament and has performed consistently with his bat despite the team’s poor performance in this World Cup.
