Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani: Raj Mata visits Gayatri’s home to seek her hand in marriage for her son Indravardhan!
When you dream intensely, the universe conspires to make situation favourable for their fulfilment. Gayatri (Drashti Dhami) would surely vouch for the fact after witnessing the recent happenings in her story in ‘Ek Tha Raj Ek Thi Rani’.
In the show, we recently saw Govind Seth returning home after finishing his meeting with Raj mata of Amerkot. Gayatri anxiously receives her father at home and inquires if she will indeed be getting engaged to the elderly Damodar. Govind Seth speaks measured words and assures Gayatri that he will make sure she remains happy for life. He walks away leaving Gayatri heart-broken and resigned to her fate.
In the evening, Damodar, his mother and a few relatives visit Govind Seth’s house for the engagement ceremony. Gayatri sits down in a sad mood and listens to the taunts of her sisters-in-law. Damodar’s mother makes Gayatri feel humbled and asks her to give her a grandson within a year of her marriage with Damodar. Govind Seth keeps an eye on his watch as if waiting for someone’s arrival. At 6 pm, Raj Mata arrives with her entourage to Govind Seth’s home. The whole family including Gayatri, get shocked to witness Raj Mata at their home. Raj Mata is offered a seat with due respect and soon after, she breaks her silence by asking for Gayatri’s hand in marriage for Ranaji. While, Gayatri gets amazed to hear the proposal; her mother and her entire family’s jaw drops in surprise. Raj Mata asks Damodar and his family to leave and tells them that they have no business in the house when Gayatri belongs to the royal family.
Raj Mata’s attendants offer shagun to Gayatri’s family. Gayatri seeks blessings of Raj Mata by touching her feet and gets happy to witness the developments. Raj Mata takes leave from the family and signals Govind Seth for a private conversation before starting for the palace. She tells Govind Seth that at his behest she visited his home for the pre-marriage formalities and asks him to keep his word by spending his own money for a lavish wedding but ensure that the royal family’s grandeur is not subdued as a result. Govind Seth assures her that her wish shall be fulfilled and humbly bows his head before her.
Later, Raj Mata informs Ranaji about her decision to get him married to Gayatri. Ranaji gets baffled to hear the news and angrily questions Raj mata for taking the decision on his behalf. She tells him that he has to be a responsible king by letting go off his attachment to his first wife Sulakshna’s memories and accept Govind Seth’s daughter so that their debts are forgiven and they retain the kingship for the benefit of their subjects. Ranaji argues that it is because is Raj Mata’s spendthrift nature that they turned into debtors and asks why he should pay for her errors by parting with Sulakshna’s memories. Raj Mata answers him by saying that since he has always desired to be a good king like his father, destiny has presented a chance to him – the choice is his – either live with Sulakshna’s memories or let his uncle usurp the throne by failing to get rid of his debts.
Will Ranaji agree to accept Gayatri?
