DIY lip scrub recipe for chapped lips
Dry and chapped lips are a common problem. One that everyone faces irrespective of age, gender or the season. As winter is almost around, chapped lips are going to be one major problem. Along with the weather it is also caused because of dehydration, smoking, excessive licking of lips and sun exposure. To make life easier for you, we have listed below 5 easy DIY lip scrubs for dry and chapped lips which is cheap, easy to make and super effective.
Rose petal paste

An extremely easy way of getting beautiful moisturised lips and will also help in enhancing the lip colour. Take fresh rose petals, wash it and soak it in milk for a few hours or overnight. Grind the petals and make a thick paste, store it in a container. Apply this paste two to three times a day and every night before going to bed for soft and pink lips. Store your rose scrub in the refrigerator for it to be long lasting.
Honey and Glycerin

Honey is great when it comes to healing chapped lips. It’s a great moisturiser and also has major antibacterial properties. Mix two tablespoon of honey with glycerin, store thi mixture and apply it every night before going to bed. You can also keep applying honey on the lips for smooth and soft lips.
Sugar and Honey

The best way to get soft lips is by mixing sugar and honey together and making a paste. Apply the paste on your chapped lips and massage it for a couple of minutes. Wash it off with lukewarm water. It’ll help get rid of the dead cells and make the lips super soft.
Castor Oil

A really efficient way of treating dry lips is by using castor lips. Take half a teaspoon of castor oil, one teaspoon of olive oil and one teaspoon of lemon juice. Mix all of them together and apply it as a mask on your lips. Keep it on for 15 mins and wash it away with lukewarm water. Lemon acts as a bleaching agent for dark lips and honey helps in nourishing the lips.
Vanilla Extract

Sugar and baking soda work best for dry lips and act as exfoliants in this mix. Take 2 teaspoons of sugar, 1 teaspoon of baking soda, 2 teaspoons of olive oil and ¼ vanilla extract. Mix all the ingredient together nicely. Take a small amount on your fingertips and massage it on your lips. Wash it off with lukewarm water, keep repeating it daily for getting the best results.
