3 Simple steps from experts to prep your lips before putting matte lipstick

Matte lipstick is currently in trend and it helps to glam-up their overall look. But, now it’s the time to make sure you’re treating your lips in the right way. Regardless of whether you are part of team bright and bold red lips or team dynamic pink lips, you must keep certain things in mind before applying matte lipstick. The regular application of matte lipstick may make your lips dry and flaky. So, make sure, your lips are pampered and well-moisturised. Scrub

Since matte lipsticks take the shape of your lips, they tend to highlight even the slightest crack on your lips. Exfoliation is necessary to avoid any flaking. So, scrub your lips with coffee, olive oil and sugar together regularly and then wash it off. This will remove tan and all dead skin cells from your lips.

Moisturise

A mask made of olive oil and glycerin hydrates your lips and makes them smooth. Take half a teaspoon of olive oil and mix 4 to 5 drops of glycerin to it and massage with it for a few minutes. Take a napkin to dab and remove the excess oil and give your lips the perfect plump pout.

Apply your lipstick

Once you're done scrubbing and moisturising your lips, you can go ahead and apply your matte lipstick. Avoid using lip balm because the pigments from the lipstick won't transfer well, making it hard for your matte lipstick to settle well. Your matte lipsticks already have wax, so adding lip balm which also contains wax, may harm your lips.
