The match that was supposed to start at 3pm IST has been delayed due to excess rain. Before this, two warm up matches had been called off prior to the official tournament because of rain. The toss had also been delayed due to relentless rain at Bristol and there are still no signs of the match to begin any time soon. teams will hope for the covers to come off as soon as possible as it will a crucial game for both the teams to move further in the tournament.

As the rain delayed the game of cricket at Bristol, the fans kept themselves entertained on twitter. A few also recalled the 1992 World Cup tournament where Pakistan defeated England in the finals to become the World champions. Pakistan has won one of their 2 matches played in the tournament. They lost to Windies in their first game. However, they made a strong comeback when they defeated the hosts and the tournament’s favourites, England by 14 runs in their next match. Sri Lanka on the other hand lost to New Zealand in a low scoring game by 10 wickets but made a comeback against the Afghans where they won by 34 runs.
