India vs South Africa, World Cup 2019: India's probable playing XI for the match
Indian cricket fans will finally have a say in ICC World Cup 2019 as the Men in Blue face South Africa, tomorrow at Rose Bowl in their first match of the tournament.
Luckily, Kohli and Co got a lot of time to settle down in England as almost all others teams have played two matches thus far. However, late starts can sometimes can also hit the momentum of a team. Well, was late entry in the tournament fruitful or futile for India, will be revealed once they take field tomorrow.
Meanwhile, India has a power-packed squad for the World Cup and the first XI is not very certain since separate bunch of players showed form in the two warm-up games. Though considering the pitch conditions and availability of players, India can line up the following way against struggling South Africa.
Batsmen/All-rounders
Long-term openers, Rohit Sharma and Shikhar are doubtlessly going to start the proceedings for India while captain Virat Kohli will serve the number three spot. Kl Rahul, who smashed a superb hundred in the warm-up game, is most likely to come at number 4 for this match.
Pertinently, MS Dhoni, having also shown touch at number 5 recently, is might bat at the same position while he will also keep the wickets for India. At number 6, Kedar Jadhav will probably make a cut. The all-rounder although didn't appear in the warm-up games due to injury scare, has reportedly been declared fit. Up at number 7, it's none other than in-form Hardik Pandya who will be hungry to make his presence felt.
Bowlers
The wrist-spin duo of Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal might also play the first match. They have shared a lot of success in the white-ball cricket for India during recent times. Meanwhile, bowling spearhead, Jaspirt Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar could be the Kohli's seam-bowling options for this game as both of them are quite experienced.
So, India's probable playing XI for the first match sums up as:
Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli (C), Kl Rahul, MS Dhoni (WK), Kedar Jadhav, Hardik Pandya, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jaspirt Bumrah.
