Warner had an exceptional IPL series before the WC tournament, whereas Steve Smith showed his batting skills in the warm-up matches before the official tournament.

The Australian opener batsman who scored an unbeaten 89 runs against the Afghans in their first match in the tournament was booed by the crowd despite his phenomenal performance with the bat. The duo was also booed in the warm-up matches where the crowd couldn’t stop the chants of ‘cheats’.

However, James Erskine, David Warner's manager, in a comment published by Fairfax Media said that the English crowd is actually stupid for booing Warner. He said that all this will actually encourage him to play exceptional cricket throughout the tournament.

Steve Smith and other players who were caught in this incident have given press interviews before talking about this huge scandal, but David Warner has denied to say anything publicly.

Erskine defended the batsman and said that there is nothing to talk about it now. He said that people will want to chat to him about his play if he gets a ton against a team like England.

He also said that both the batsmen have already taken a hit for a lot of players in the team and they have received their punishment for it as well. For now, both of these players just need to concentrate on their batting and have to go out and play well.

Australia will play their next match in the tournament against Windies on Thursday, June 6 at Trent Bridge Stadium.
