Vidya Balan comments on the staement of Mission Mangal needing an " Akshay Kumar"
Vidya shared, “This mission had equal contribution from men and women. It’s great that a woman’s contribution is at least being acknowledged.”
Mission Mangla is the second collaboration of Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan after Bhool Bhulaiyaa.The film, which also stars Taapsee Pannu, Nithya Menen, Kirti Kulhari, Sharman Joshi, H. G. Dattatreya, Vikram Gokhale and Sonakshi Sinha, loosely follows scientists who contributed to the Mars Orbiter Mission. Directed by Jagan Shakti, the science fiction drama saw an exceptional opening day and collected Rs 28.50 crore nett approximately.Many viewers felt that in the poster of the film, Bollywood’s Khiladi Akshay had been given a more prominent space as compared to the leading ladies. Replying to this, Sonakshi had stated in an interview: “Jo bikta hai, woh bikta hai”. Sharing her views on the same, Vidya shared, “This mission had equal contribution from men and women. It’s great that a woman’s contribution is at least being acknowledged.”
