Deepika shares that she was nervous, when she met Lakshmi for the first time, with the make up depicting ‘Malti’- the acid attack survivor, as she says it was the first time she’s depicting a character which is not fictional or dead. The moment Lakshmi said that she was happy seeing her, she agrees that there’s no better validation than her admitting her happiness.
She even shared that when she met Lakshmi for the first time, she saw a reflection of herself within her. She says its her spirit and how easy she is with everything, along with joy and attitude. She’s really unique not with sympathy, and what she’s made her life after that is commendable. She’s always full of stories. Deepika also added, that this has been the most special film in her career so far, while getting emotional on stage.
