Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai: Devyaani’s remarriage, Rashmi’s divorce deter Alok and Muskaan's marriage prospects
So far in Yeh Rishta…we had seen Alok and family visiting the Singhanias to talk about his tie-up with Muskaan. The Singhanias impatiently wait for Alok’s family to kick-start the talk about Alok and Muskaan. Alok gets a phone call regarding some urgent work and he excuses himself to attend to his office duties.
Meanwhile, the Singhanias go on wondering why Alok’s family is not showing any interest in talking about Muskaan. At last, Alok’s parents keep their awkwardness aside and begin speaking about their family and extended family. They mention how one of the members of the family has been serving his jail term for getting into a serious brawl with someone.
The Singhanias get shocked to hear this revelation and think about coming clean about some crucial details about their family. Bauji tells them that he has had a remarriage with Devyaani and his daughter Rashmi is a divorcee.
Alok’s family gets visibly scandalised to know this and beats a hasty retreat from the Singhania house. Devyaani, Muskaan, Akshara and others get worried as they fail to hear from Alok’s family after their sudden departure.
The next morning, Akshara and Devyaani drop in at Alok’s house unannounced to know what decision has his family arrived at. Alok’s parents tell the Singhania women that they do not wish to move further as Muskaan may not be able to manage relations much like her mother and sister both of whom are divorcees.
Devyaani breaks down into tears to hear this reply and curses her fate for playing a spoilsport in her daughter’s happiness. Naman and Naitik console Muskaan and promise her to iron out all creases in her love life. They visit Alok’s visit and open up about the conditions that led Devyaani and Rashmi to break away from their respective marriages.
Will Alok’s family give their consent to his marriage with Muskaan?
