Diya aur baati hum : Sandhya's first task!
In Star Plus’ ‘Diya Aur Baati Hum’, Sandhya and Sooraj are on their way to Sandhya’s office when they see a man rashly driving a bike on the road. Sandhya fines him for rash driving. She also explains how dangerous such things can be for his own self and for others. Sandhya asks about the whereabouts of the traffic policeman of the area who tells her that he had taken some college students to the police station. Both worry about the attitude of people.
Meanwhile Chavi is thanking her mother-in-law on the phone for making her an independent woman when her boss comes and asks her about the check he had asked her to deposit. Chavi tells him that she has not done it yet and that he must fire her for this carelessness. However her boss thanks her for saving the company as the account did not have sufficient balance and her not depositing the check actually helped them. Chavi is dismayed.
Zakir comes to meet Sandhya as a friend and she tells about Sooraj feeling guilty for her demotion and how he has thrown his driving license and vowed never to drive a four wheeler again and that she must make sure she is able to get her original post back by passing the three memos because Sooraj has always made sure to fulfill her dreams and now its her turn. She tells Zakir how Sooraj learnt driving just to take her on a long drive. Meanwhile Sooraj talks to Vikram who reminds him that Sandhya and he have always overcome bad times and Sooraj vows to help Sandhya pass the three memos and win back her post and respect.
He asks Vikram about Mohit and expresses his wish to see him. They are on their way to Mohit’s house when they meet a man driving a bike rashly and are shocked to see that it is Mohit himself. Sooraj asks him whether he got a job and to whom does the bike belong. Mohit denies having a job and tells Sooraj and Vikram that its his brother’s bike who loves him and that he even has a mother who doesn’t taunt him about earning and that he now has a new identity and a new family. On Sooraj’s protests, Mohit disagrees and tells him that Sooraj doesnt care for him and only supports Sandhya. Vikram scolds him but Mohit is adamant and leaves.
Sandhya comes up with an idea of using a cardboard cutout of a traffic policeman at traffic signals so that people will mistake it for a real person and obey traffic rules. Her staff agrees with her idea. Zakir also appreciates her idea. Sandhya shows him the figure of traffic violations in the area, one which she is must reduce to half. Zakir erases the number on the board and leaves a zero in its place and tells her that this is her first task to get back her post. She has to reduce the number of traffic violation incidents in the area from 180 to zero within a week. Sooraj joins them and is surprised at the task and thinks of it as impossible but Zakir convinces them both that it can be done. Sandhya thinks about Bhabho and decides to take up this challenge.
In the upcoming episode, Sandhya gets to know that her technique is working but realizes she needs more ideas to reduce traffic violations and Bhabho and Sooraj come to her with an idea. What will be Bhabho and Sooraj’s idea and will it help Sandhya pass the first task?
