Diya aur Baati Hum: 7 Jan, Rathis sad to separate from each other
Bhabho is still pressurizing Sandhya to earn the trophy for the best cadet in the IPS training. Everyone tries to explain to her that this is much difficult than winning a race in Hanuman Gali back in Pushkar. But Bhabho doesn't hear the end of it. She expects and prays that her daughter-in-law will win this at the end of the 11 months of her training as this is the only way her family can be together.
They break their discussion to go eat lunch where they are told that the cadets and guests have to eat in separate canteens. This distance just reiterates the oncoming separation the family will suffer once they leave Hyderabad. Seeing that jalebis are served for dessert, both Suraj and Sandhya are reminded of a time where they enjoyed each other's company while frying jalebis in Suraj's sweet shop.
The Rathi family decides to spend whatever little time they have left talking to each other, when Sandhya is called into a discussion for the rules and schedules of the IPS training. Unfortunately, they don't say their goodbyes and Sandhya leaves dressed in her police uniform.
