EXCLUSIVE: “I used to gulp down chicken soon after Jhalak practice” – Akshat Singh

Akshat Singh’s twitter handle reads: ‘Akshatdhamaka’. And this 'dhamaka' in fourth standard has win many hearts with his amazing and unbelievable Salman dance moves. But, this dance ‘wonder kid’ is as much serious about his studies as he is about food. Akshat’s amazing dance journey came to an end last week after a face-off round opposite Shakti. But the little boy in his chirpy self, reveals he is not at all sad to get evicted. In an exclusive interaction with Pinkvilla.com the Kolkata wonder Akshat speaks about his Jhalak journey, interesting things he found in Ellen’s show and more. Excerpts:

Were you expecting to get evicted at the semi-final round?

I wanted to make everybody happy. Till the last performance I gave, everybody used to enjoy watching me. And on special request I performed even after getting evicted. So it is the love that matters the most.

Were you afraid to perform face-off with Shakti Mohan?

Shakti di is a great dancer. And I am not afraid of anybody. I am Salman bhai’s chhota bhai. And chhota bhai is not afraid.

Who do you want to win the Jhalak trophy?

I should have won. All four of them are very good. Anybody can win. Everybody came to win the trophy but I came to win people’s heart. And I won it. So I am very happy.

Share your fun moments on the set?

During practice session, we were all very serious. But during the shoot, we had lots of fun. Especially Manish bhaiya used to mimicry and make us all laugh. And everyone used to pull my cheeks whenever they felt like. But most often it was Madhuri maam pulling my cheeks.
And I always had food on my mind. If you don’t put petrol in car, how will it run? Soon after my shot used to get over, I would run and eat chicken burgers or some preparation of chicken.

Your fan moment with Salman Khan

It was like meeting God. He is my God. He calls me “YouTube ka bachcha” after seeing my dance videos. We danced together; he fed me sweets and also gave me his number. He is my idol and ‘bada bhai’.

How did you manage time between studies and Jhalak?

I used to get my books on set. In free time I used to study. I love to study also. I love maths, science, grammar. I love all subjects. After Jhalak got over I am concentrating on my studies fully.

What are you planning to do next?

I would want to do a film with Salman Khan and play the role of his ‘chhota bhai’ and dance with him and also would want to work with Karan Sir.

During Ellen show, apart from being a guest there, what else did you like?

The best thing there was I got to entertain so many people. And I got to eat lots of chicken items. And I got a bike the one I rode in the show. We were there for two days and I enjoyed a lot.
