‘Bigg Boss 8’ Grand Premiere Episode Update: The Show Takes Off with a Major Twist! (With Pics)

The curtain raiser episode of India’s most watched and controversial reality show ‘Bigg Boss Season 8’ was nothing short of twists and turns as the BB8 flight took off for a 3-month-long journey today.

Host and Flight captain Salman Khan opened the show with a dance act with lovely ladies by his side. Contestants Sonali Raut and Karishma Tanna joined him on stage and danced on the song ‘Jumme Ki Raat.’

As the dancing bit got over, Salman brought the girls to the main point, and that was, how they have planned their BB8 course.

After a brief chat, the girls left the stage with their baggage for the BB house and seated themselves in the waiting area to wait for the next announcement.

Actor Upen Patel came next and a danced with Elli Avram on a romantic duet.
After the act, Salman joined the duo in stage began pulling Elli’s leg for her Hindi skills. Then, he moved on to Upen, who came to India all the way from his current home London, and asked him why he is willing to participate in BB. Upen said, “Because you are hosting it. So, I can talk to you and watch you every week.

After the actor left the stage for his new home, the camera started showing the interiors of the BB8 – aircraft-styled house. Upen got puzzled to see the look of the house and that’s when Salman reevaled that first twist of the show – and that is – the house is only vimaan, and there is no makan (only airplane and no home).

Clearly, the passengers (contestants) will be supposed to stay in the airplane-like house.

The show then moved on to introduce, TV actress Soni Singh of ‘Saraswatichandra’ fame, who is famous for her vamp roles. She started flirting with Salman and matching wits with him. The actor asked her to showcase her vamp-ish acting skills by giving a negative expression as she made an airline announcement. As she finished her act, Salman concluded “I don’t think anyone can mess with you!”

The next entry was taken by actor Arya Babbar of ‘Ab Ke Baras’ fame and son of actor Raj Babbar.

He was joined on-stage by the last season’s contestant Armaan Kohli on stage and the duo had a face off on the title track of ‘Singham’.

Armaan gave his sage advice to Arya by saying, “It (BB journey) is an experience of lifetime. Just go with the flow.”
Arya added, “I am just gonna enjoy myself.”

Whne asked about his tactic, he answered, “I don’t have any strategy.”

To which, Salman joked, “Are you sure? Abhi se hi jhooth bolna shuru kar diya (You have already started lying!)”

After that, the green-haired beauty, model Diandra Soares arrived as did Gutthi (Sunil Grover) to infuse humour into the episode. The trio – Gutthi, Salman and Diandra engaged in an interesting banter and they did Salman’s famous “towel dance” from the song “Jeene ke hain chaar din” (Mujhse Shaadi Karogi).

Later, Diandra was asked to tag along either Karishma or Sonali upon entering the house. As Diandra entered the waiting area, she greeted the two women waiting patiently there. It turned out that Diandra knew Sonali ‘coz her supermodel sister Ujjwala Raut was her acquaintance. However, instead of picking Sonali, Diandra took along an unfamiliar Karishma, thereby miffing Sonali. Was that a strategy on BB’s part to sow seeds of dissension between Diandra and Sonali, we wonder?

Anyway, Mr. Gay 2014 contestant and LGBT Sushant Divgikar made a stylish entry wearing a girlie and chic dress.

Salman introduced Sushant by praising him for being versatile and multi-talented.

Sushant have a glimpse of his talent by singing the ‘I Love You’ song from ‘Bodyguard’. He waived everyone goodbye with a message- ‘This was just a trailer, and my clothes will become shorter inside the house.”

Then turned up actress Sukirti Nagpal, actor Gautam Gulati (of ‘Diya aur Baati Hum’ fame), and actress Sargun Mehta. The trio danced together to a mushy song.

When quizzed about her motto of being a BB8 player, Sukirti said that wishes to be bubbly, chirpy and selective. When Salman asked Sukirti elaborate on what she meant being ‘selective’, Sargun quipped on her behalf that ‘she will be selective about who she chooses to be friends with.’

On the other hand, Gautam showed a blank face when asked about his motto. However, he mustered a reply and said that he better go with a blank mind.

To make the game more interesting, Salman brought forth another twist, when he asked Gautam to choose between Sargun and Sukirti as his co-passenger inside the BB8 aircraft. Gautam picked up Sukirti, thereby, upsetting Sargun, who chided him bluntly for leaving her out. An embarrassed Gautam tried giving an excuse to calm her down and then left with Sukirti for his new abode. Later, when signaled by Salman, Sargun revealed to the audience that she was not supposed to be a contestant but made an appearance on a special purpose.

Praneet Bhatt of Star Plus’s ‘Mahabharat’ fame arrived on stage in his Mamashri Shakuni avatar.

Unlike his vicious and conniving screen character, Praneet appeared sweet while interacting with Salman. “I am being called here as Praneet Bhatt. So I will be myself in the show. I don’t want to act in a certain way because the truth always comes out in the open. And you (Salman) are expert at it.”

Then after, Natasha Stankovic, a pretty model and wannabe actress from Serbia, introduced herself by dancing to a few Bollywood numbers.

With a broken Hindi, she conversed with Salman and impressed him with her innocence.
As she bid good bye to Salman to leave for the house, the concerned actor-host concluded that she will be another Elli Avram in BB8 and might break down early in the house of horrors.

Bollywood actress, Minissha Lamba, who looked plumper after being away from the camera all these years, happily and naively spoke to ‘Salman Sir’. About her strategy inside the house, she said, “I can’t cause any turbulence but can calm down any havoc (inside the house).”

She was made to sit inside a wooden box meant to carry carrier goods, and entered as a surprise package inside the aircraft-themed house.

And finally, Salman offered his final twist -

The Secret Society comprising three well-honed players consisting of a shrewd and upfront female celeb, a famous producer who has the knack of having his way with others and a male Radio Jockey who had the skill of making others follow a sugar coated bitter pill. The main rights and responsibilities of the Secret Society are:

# Rule the contestants

# They are free from the tasks, trials and nominations

# They have the right to play their own role in the BB8 house

As the trio entered in the house dressed up from head to toe in a black garb, their Satanic figure scared the hell out of the contestants and more do the warning they gave to all of them to beware of them.
