So finally, Asad and Zoya are done with their nikaah minus any hiccup from Tanveer’s end. Dressed up in maroon and beige bridal finery, Zoya appeared to be no less than a royal Begum, while, Asad looked every bit flawless in his Pathani garb.
When the families sat down with the couple and the Maulvi for the nikaah formalities, Mr. Gaffur Ahmed Siddiqui came forward to name himself as the bride’s father. Overwhelmed by affection for his daughter Zoya, Mr. Siddiqui had almost given away the big secret. But Zoya and others did not take his words literally. To everyone, Mr. Siddiqui turned out to be a kind man willing to lend his name to an orphaned Zoya.
Another special gesture gladdened us immensely when Dilshad named herself as the bride’s mother for the nikaah rites.
All in all, the nikaah celebrations are going smoothly until now. But, we fear the catty Tanveer throwing in a spoiler or two to kill all the fun.
