Why did BIG MAGIC replace Gunn Kansara with Neetha Shetty in Nadaniyaan?
BIG MAGIC’s Nadaniyaan, a situational comedy that’s quite popular with the Indian masses, will see major changes ahead. It’s been confirmed that Gunn Kansara (who plays the female lead Chandni) has quit the show.
A source from the production team revealed that the actress and the production house decided to go separate ways due to creative differences. The two parties were unable to agree on how the character of Chandni was being written.
With the fall out, the producers have roped in popular telly actress, Neetha Shetty to replace Gunn on-screen.
Neetha, a known face in the industry, is famed for her role in Betiyaan and was recently seen in Savdhaan India along with Paras Arora.
“Yes, I will be joining the Nadaniyaan cast soon.” confirmed Neetha Shetty. “I am an ardent follower of the show Nadaniyaan and I’m confident that I can walk that extra mile in Chandani’s shoes. I’ve already had a few discussions with the producers on my character and I’m really excited with what we’ve come up with. I really hope that the fans will be supportive of my portrayal of Chandni.”
Neetha will be introduced as Chandni on Monday, February 24, 2014. This is the second major casting change undertaken by the production house (Creative Eye) in less than 10 weeks. In November 2013, fresh face Jay Pathak was roped in to replace popular theatre actor Iqbal Azad as the lead character, Nandu.
Could there be more changes waiting in the wings?
