Why we feel Chetan Bhagat stands out as judge of ‘Nach Baliye 7’?

We have seen many seasons of dance reality shows go on and off air every year. And one thing has been common in all of them – the same ‘ol sugary sweet or diplomatic feedback being given to the contestants by the well-decked celebrity judges.

Cut to 2015 and here we have someone daring to be different in his style of judging.

We are talking about popular novelist and scriptwriter Chetan Bhagat who is judging ‘Nach Baliye Season 7’ these days.

Well, after watching the opening episodes of the series, we can vouch for the fact that Chetan is deserves to stay. Why?

Because he is not the one who would give pleasing-to-the-ego feedback to the contestants. He is trying to be different and carve his own identity as a reality show judge. Chetan’s speech is very candid which makes it clear that he won’t be liked initially by others but the audience may appreciate him for being different from the herd. Although many people on the show would blame him for trying to get too personal by picking on them for looking at love and life with their rose-tinted glasses, the fact is, Chetan is practical in his approach and trying to make the reality show look more real.

And perhaps, that’s why we could see Chetan’s co-judges Marzi Pestonji and Preity Zinta showing their resentment in a subtle way.

We think it not everywhere has the nerves to explore uncharted territories. However, Chetan should tone down his blunt personal jibes and stop judging contestants on the basis of what they have accomplished in their love life. Questioning the integrity of runaway couple Arpit Ranka and his wife Nidhi could have been avoided by Chetan.
