‘Mahabharat’ Last Episode: Gandhari curses Krishna. Yudhistir finally gets crowned as the King! (In Pics)
The last episode of Star Plus’s ‘Mahabharat’ showed the much-awaited coronation of Yudhistir as the King of Hastinapur.
After winning the war, the Pandavas move to Hastinapur to meet Dhritrashtra. An angry Dhritrashtra receives the Pandavas with a fake smile and calls on Bheem to hug him. Krishna, knowing Dhritrashtra’s intention behind hugging Bheem, places a stone idol made in his image.
Dhritrashtra comes forth to hug the stone idol of Bheem thinking him to be the Pandava himself and crushes it into pieces with the force of his arms.
As soon as he does that, Dhritrashtra’s anger flies away and he realizes he has killed Bheem! The old monarch breaks down into tears. However, Krishna and others console him by saying that he has not killed Bheem but has broken his stone image instead.
This news relieves the king and he happily hugs Bheem. Next, the preparations for Yudhistir’s coronation are made. Dhritrashtra requests Vidur to crown the new King but the latter suggests Krishna’s name for the ceremonial rite.
Dhritrashtra and other agree with Vidur’s suggestion and request Krishna to crown Yudhistir. But as soon as Krishna is about to crown the King, Gandhari arrives in the court and stops Krishna from placing the crown on Yudhistir’s head. She curses him for allowing the destructive war to happen and for playing a key role in the death of her 100 sons. She declares that even Krishna’s clan will be wiped off and even he himself will roam in the forest like an animal helplessly.
Krishna accepts Gandhari’s curse with a smile and hugs her lovingly. He says that till the time people remember Mahabharat’s story and the lesson it gives, there won’t be no injustice on earth. The episode ends with Yudhistir’s crowing as the New King of Hastinapur with his better-half, Queen Draupadi by his side.
