Devon Ke Dev Mahadev: The Two Gods of Indian Mythology to Fight against Each Other

Sustaining TRP’s (Television Rating Points) in today’s time and age is a very challenging thing to do. Many television channels are constantly battling with one another, trying to grab the most number of eyeballs. New Hindi television shows are being introduced in the country, keeping in mind the changing trends of the Indian society. Many of these programs have become more youth-centric and relevant to prevailing and sensitive issues that are a part of the Indian culture. Mythology, however remains one of the most popular genres in the field of Hindi TV shows and there’s only one show that comes to mind; Devon Ke Dev Mahadev.

This enchanting story of Lord Shiva and his different avatars which is a weekly soap that airs from Monday to Friday on Life OK has already been dubbed in regional languages, Tamil, Malayalam, Oriya and Telugu having its titles as Shivam, Kailasanathan, Mahadev and Hara Hara Mahadeva respectively due to its popularity. This show is yet riding high with its TRP’s, not dipping in its performance as lead actors Mohit Raina (depicting Lord Shiva), Pooja Bose (Parvati), Ragini Dubey (Lakshmi)and Salina Prakash (Saraswati)recreate the magical journey of these gods and goddesses.

A spiritual drama that has been inspired by the works of mythologist, Devdutt Pattanaik has been written by a host of eminent writers such as C.L. Saini, Koel Chaudhary, Brij Mohan Pandey, Dr. Bodhisattva, Mihir Bhuta, Manoj Tripathi, Bhavna Vyas, Utkarsh Naithani and Subrat Sinha. It has been directed by Nikhil Sinha and Manish Singh, with the creative director being Aniruddh Pathak.

According to the latest reports, Lord Krishna whose role is being essayed by Saurabh Raj Jain gets involved in an intense fight with Mohit Raina, who depicts the role of Mahadev (Lord Shiva).

Currently, the plot is revolves around how Mahadev gifts Bansur a form of protection against the Gods who pose harm to him. In return, Banasur takes advantage of the situation and materialises his wicked plans against the Gods. The compelling and interesting part of the show is when how Banasur will be killed when Lord Krishna enters in the situation. The upcoming episodes of the show will feature an intense Mahayudh. This is where the Gods will fight against each another. In this particular sequence, Lord Krishna will also try to kill the evil Banasur. This is when the two gods of Indian mythology will be seen fighting against one another.
