India’s famous female stand-up comedian Bharti Singh aka Lalli (by her fans) and her co-actors invited flak from a certain section recently when they went about mimicking yesteryears singers like Lata Mangeshkar and Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan during one of the episodes of ‘Comedy Classes’ on Life OK.

Well, it so happened that Bharti had chosen to imitate Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and her colleague Krushna Abhishek acted like Lata Mangeshkar for one of the recently aired episode of the show. But the comedy act ended up inviting boos and ire instead as certain viewers did not appreciate the aforementioned comedians making fun of the singing legends!

During a conversation with a media site, Bharti Singh put forth her point of view on the criticism received by team ‘Comedy Nights’ for the act. She said that as comedians, their idea is to make people laugh and not hurt their sentiments. And the act was performed only in a lighter vein. She even requested the viewers to understand that the team’s intentions were good, and even if they have ended up hurting anyone, they wholeheartedly seek forgiveness for the deed.

However, Bharti did mention that a few people liked her act as she looked convincing with all the make-up and works as Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan on-stage.
