The crazy family of Life OK’s madcap show – Comedy Classes- recently performed a spoof on Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus – Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam.

As much magical and ethereal the Bollywood movie was, its parody turned out to be equally hilarious.

Bharti Singh got into Aishwarya Rai’s shoes to play the heroine of the story – Nandini whereas Subuhi Joshi played the role of Smita Jaykar aka Nandini mother in the movie. Funnyman Krushna Abhishek essayed Salman Khan’s part in the spoof and Mubeen Saudagar looked funny as Nandini on-screen father Pundit Durbar.

About playing an elderly character, Subuhi says, “I love HDDCS and have seen the movie 100 times; but that made it more difficult for me to get my act right. First, it is always difficult to play mother to a grown-up girl. Further, to add to my troubles, my character in the show is totally different from her big-screen counterpart. So, unlike the original Amrita, I am rude to my reel husband. In fact, I am so dominating and loud that he is scared of me. Because I know every scene and dialogue of the movie by-heart, it was not easy to do something exactly the opposite.”

Talking about doing scenes with Sameer (played by Salman Khan in the movie), Subuhi recalled, “Yes, I did (some scenes). They were simply hilarious.”

The episode was aired on Friday.
