Ye Hai Mohabbatein: Ishita comes to know about Subbu’s secret but Sujata fools her!
In the recent episode, Ishita (Divyanka Tripathi) calls up Subbu’s MIL Sujata to see her for a normal talk. However, Sujata makes an excuse saying she has an informal meeting with the judge regarding human rights case and instead, goes to meet the psychiatrist for some discussion regarding Subbu’s mental disorder.
As fate would have it, Ishita also arrives at the same clinic to collect some medical reports. Ishita chances upon Sujata and wonders why the latter lied to her. She follow Sujata to know what she is up to and gets shocked to see her visiting a psychiatrist’s cabin. Ishita begins eavesdropping on their conversation from the doorstep to get to the root of the matter.
She gets baffled to hear Sujata asking the doctor to keep Subbu’s psychiatric treatment under wraps. The doctor assures her that her request will be adhered to but advises her to share it with Subbu’s in-laws at least. Sujata turns down the diea citing some lame reason.
Ishita leaves the clinic with a disturbed mind wondering why Subbu lied to her all along. She also remembers being told by Vandhu that Subbu’s ex-wife Laxmi did not conceive at all after Karthik and how Subbu told her that Laxmi suffered a miscarriage. Ishita tries arranging the blocks of the puzzle to get the clear picture but in vain. She feels sorry looking at her in-laws arranging for Simmi’s marriage with such love. Finally, Ishita decides to confront Sujata and visits her place.
At Sujata’s residence, Ishita straightforwardly asks her why the fact about Subbu’s psychiatric treatment was kept hidden from the Bhallas. Sujata gets nervous to face Ishita’s direct question and goes about lying that Subbu was disturbed with what happened to him in the past and had suicidal tendencies, he made up his mind to take up psychiatric treatment. Sujata also adds that since there is a stigma attached to mental disorders in India, they could not share the news with the Bhallas and were waiting for the right time to inform them. Ishita argues that visiting a psychiatrist for treatment is not an issue but being kept in the dark is. However, Sujata resorts to tears to garner Ishita’s sympathy and regain her trust. She says that they have no intention to harm Simmi or Ananya; even Subbu genuinely wishes to start a new life with them, hence he was keen on taking the treatment. Ishita gets convinced with Sujata’s relies, seeks apology for distrust and leaves.
Sujata heaves a sigh of relief and resolves to be careful till Subbu gets married to Simmi.
But, will the sharp-minded Ishita learn the truth that Subbu is not depressed for any other reason but is a seriously ailing from bad temper? What other skeletons has he been hiding in the closet?
