Kapil Sharma signs a three-film deal with Yash Raj Films
Stand-up comedian Kapil Sharma is on a roll these days. After tasting immense success with the popularity of his show – Comedy Nights with Kapil – the funnyman has sealed a three-film contract with none other than Yash Raj Films.
Kapils’ debut film has been titled Bank Chor, to be produced under YRF’S youth films division Y-Films, which earlier handled Ram Kapoor and Saqib Saleem’s Mere Dad Ki Maruti.
In addition to these plum projects, Kapil’s films and endorsements will be handled by YRF’s Talent Management Wing.
An overwhelmed Kapil spoke on this occasion:
“It’s a privilege & a dream to be part of the YRF family and have my launch with their Youth Films Studio, Y-Films. The script is the most exciting part since it’s the kind of role that’s very unlike the stereotype of a comedian or what people could typecast me as. As an actor it’s challenging & I’m so excited that I’ve already started working on the nuances of the character. I’ve always loved & watched thrillers and this is a thriller comedy so even better ;) I’ve done serious theatre for years before comedy. Finally with YRF’s vision, I’ll get to do this again after a 12-year break and this script has equal scope of comedy. It’s sure to surprise my fans!”
Bank Chor is a comedy movie that features three idiots on a mission to rob a bank. But all goes wrong for the trio when murphy’s law catches up with them, thereby, entangling policemen, politicians and corporate honchos in the web. This film be directed by Bumpy and produced by Ashish Patil.
So come April and Kapil Sharma’s debut film will hit at a theatre near you!
