Jodha-Akbar: Ruqaiya is no longer Jalaluddin Akbar’s ‘Begum-e-Khaas’
Ruqaiya Begum had the worst possible showdown of her life recently after the boat ride incident involving Jodha and Jalal that left her stupefied and cheated.
Furious with Jodha’s alleged attempt to steal Jalal from her, Ruqaiya Begum went to the Emperor to complain about the issue. She hurled accusations on Jodha for trying to be ‘Begum-e-Khaas’ – a power – which solely belongs to Jalal's First Begum. However, contrary to Ruqaiya Begum’s expectations, Jalal stood up for Jodha and told her very clearly that the ‘Begum-e-Khaas’ title has been bestowed to all his wives by him. So, if a messenger came to inform Jalal that ‘Begum-e-Khaas’ wants to meet him in person, it does not imply that it could be only Ruqaiya Begum who wants to see him. Point noted, Emperor!
But Ruqaiya, being the possessive and insecure one in Jalal’s life, was in rage after hearing Jalal’s reasoning. We think, Jodha Begum might get into another trouble soon as Ruqaiya is not the one to watch Jalal being easily taken away from her hands.
To sum up, Jalal’s house in on fire! Not literally though.
