Jodha Akbar: Storm in the Harem as the royal ladies learn about Bakshi’s truth!
The unraveling of Bakshi’s secret about the gender of her child has caused a stir in the harem of Jalal’s palace.
In the new episode of the historical series, we saw Jodha coming to know about the gender of Bakshi’s baby. However, before Jodha could share the news with others, Bakshi begged her not to reveal the truth to anyone.
Jodha agrees to keep the secret but feels restless as she thinks of sharing the news with at least Jalal. Jodha’s mind reasons that if the subjects come to know about the child’s real gender, they will make fun of the entire Mughal clan. So, it is wise to tell the truth to Jalal, if not anyone else.
Salima Begum hears Jodha’s soliloquy as she visits her chamber and coaxes her to share the truth with her.
Jodha tells all to Salima, who in turn, shares the secret with Hamida Banu Begum. The news reached Rukaiya’s ears and she slaps the doctor who helped Bakshi deliver her baby.
Sharifuddin, on the other hand, insists on getting done the Khatna ritual of the newborn baby (done for baby boys in Muslims culture) but fearing severe thrashing from her husband, Bakshi tries diverting his mind to stop him from doing so.
However, an adamant Sharif takes his baby to the priest for the ceremony.
As the priest uncovers the baby’s body, he gets shocked to see that the baby is a boy and not a girl! He rebukes Sharif for feeding him and all with the wrong information. Sharif wonders what’s wrong with the baby’s gender but understands the whole deal when he checks the baby for himself.
Will Sharif spare Bakshi and her baby after learning the truth? Looks like we have to find that out in the coming episode.
