Jodha Akbar: Salim exchanges rings with Man Bai; Anarkali asks Jalal for a special gift at the engagement!
In the latest episode of Jodha Akbar, we saw Jalal returning from his political outing and being warmly received by his mother and wives in the palace.
Salim and Man Bai visit the temple and run into Anarkali unexpectedly. Man Bai gets happy to see her old friend Anarkali and questions her about her decision to become a dancer. Anarkali hurls the blame on her cruel fate and glances at Salim. Man introduces Salim to Anarkali and informs him that the commoner has been her former make-up artist cum friend. Man urges Salim to help Anarkali come out of her distress and he gives his consent. Anarkali blesses Man Bai for being kind but also thinks about keeping Salim’s ugly secret from her princess friend.
Haider gets frustrated with the thought that Anarkali missed two chances to complain about Salim to Jalal otherwise his purpose to cause further rift between Jalal and Salim would have been served. His uncle pacifies him and asks him to relax. Haider comes up another plan to fulfill his evil motive.
The next day, Salim and Man Bai exchange rings during their engagement ceremony. Anarkali dances very well especially for the occasion and enthralls Jalal with her performance. Salim gets miffed to witness her dance but does nothing except bear and grin.
Jalal tells Anarkali to seek anything as a reward for the spectacular act. Anarkali asks Jalal to announce it officially throughout Agra that her father Rashid Khan was not a traitor but a loyal servant of the Mughal family. Jalal instantly accepts her request and even promises that whoever will go against his orders shall be punished for the offence. The benevolent king also offers a house and gold to Anarkali but being her dignified self she refuses to accept anything else and takes leave from the King and his family.
Sometime later, Salim catches hold of Anarkali and insults her by throwing gold coins at her for dancing shamelessly before all. She gets angry and in turn alleges him for ruining her life by ordering his men to take her to the red light area. She expresses extreme hatred for Salim and goes away leaving him perplexed. Salim wonders who stooped so low by using his name to taint Anarkali’s image in the society. Meanwhile, Jodha witnesses Salim and Anarkali's meeting and wonders what made Salim hold Anarkali's hand.
