Jodha Akbar: Rukaiya gets injured by Jalal’s arrow; Jodha learns Jalal’s truth!
Tension and misunderstandings between Emperor Jalal, his wife Jodha and their son Prince Salim are snowballing into a family crisis.
In the recent episode, we saw a flabbergasted Salim approaching his mother Jodha and sharing that Jalal is marrying Bela who is already in love with his friend Farhan. He also reveals that the groom of Bela died which is why the lusty Jalal wants to have her by taking advantage of the opportunity. Salim also goes on to say that perhaps Jalal himself plotted the death of Bela’s groom so that he could marry her and inherit her wealth too.
Jodha gets shocked to hear this and goes to confront Jalal to confirm the story.
Jalal, who does not wish to reveal the real reason of his decision to marry Bela, tells Jodha that he loves Bela that is why he wishes to marry her. This revelation (and an untrue one) saddens Jodha and she leaves without arguing much.
On the other hand, looking at the tension brewing between Jalal’s family, his evil wife Rukaiya smirks and revels in their misery. In a monologue, she says that now she would expect Salim to approach her for solace and she would offer him peace in the form of opium and her own motherly love.
Later, when Jalal arrives at Bela’s place to present gifts prior to the marriage ceremony, Salim blocks his way and throws the presents out of his sight.
The Prince also challenges Jalal and refuses to budge from the King’s way.
Left with no other choice, a hapless Jalal orders his troop to attack Salim’s should to get him out of the way.
Jodha arrives on the scene to witness the happenings. The arrow shot at Salim hits his shoulder and he starts bleeding.
Jodha gets appalled at this sight and Salim to look at the merciless action of his father.
However, as the next arrow is shot, Rukaiya comes before Salim to take the bard on her body. She is rushed to for first aid.
In Rukaiya’s chamber, Salim sits by her side to nurse her and taunts Jodha by referring her as Mariam-Uz-Zamani. Hamida pacifies Salim and asks him to behave well with his mother.
Jalal too approaches Rukaiya to examinee her health but looking at him Salim gets up to leave. However, before leaving Salim expresses disgust at Jalal’s order to shoot him and vows to get Bela married to Farhan.
Rukaiya acts sweet before all and tells Jalal not to marry Bela and end the discord. But Jalal, in his no-nonsense manner, tells Rukaiya don’t come in his way as his decision is final and he won’t step back on his word.
Jodha watches all this angrily and wonder what’s wrong with Jalal that he is so eager to marry Bela at any cost. She goes to speak to him and hurls many accusations at him. She asks him why is he so desperate for remarriage that he went ahead to even wound his son. She offers him a sword and coaxes him to put it in her chest as much like Salim, even she is rebelling against his decision.
Jodha also expresses remorse for being Jalal’s wife.
These allegations force Jalal to blurt out the truth and he tells her all.
Hearing Jalal’s revelation, Jodha breaks down into tears and begs for apology from Jalal for doubting his intentions.
Jalal tells Jodha that no matter what happens never reveal this to Salim that I took the call to marry Bela only for the sake of his life.
Jodha agrees to keep the secret for Jalal but requests him not to injure Salim again.
On the other hand, Rukaiya tells her trusted servant that it is only Salim she loves and needs desperately and she took the arrow on her body only to bring him closer to her.
Back in his tent, Salim plans to abduct Bela to save her from getting married to Jalal. Adham’s son Haider comes to see Salim and supports his stand so as to win his trust. Later, in a soliloquy, he reveals his intention to sow seeds of dissension between Salim and Jalal to avenge death of his father.
What will happen now? Will Jalal and Jodha be able to stop Salim from creating further trouble?
Stay tuned to know how the story unfolds in the show.
