Jodha Akbar: Jalal and Jodha announce Salim’s engagement with Man Bai; Anarkali gets the title of royal dancer!
The recent episode of Jodha Akbar was about breaking of hearts like never before, dignity being sacrificed for blood relations and conspiracies being hatched by the evil schemers.
At Jodha and Jalal’s wedding anniversary celebrations, we saw Anarkali presenting a fabulous dance act for the royal couple and their guests. She lifts the veil from her face while dancing before everyone. Jodha, Salim and others get shocked seeing Anarkali behind the veil. Jodha remembers meeting Anarkali at a dargah and wonders why a simple girl like her has come down to dance at the royal gathering. As soon as she finishes her performance, Jalal praises Anarkali for presenting the enthralling act and commends her bravery as he notices her bleeding feet. He bestows the title of royal dancer on her and gives her ample gold coins as a prize. He then moves on to announce Salim’s engagement with Jodha’s niece Man Bai and asks Anarkali to prepare a dance act for the occasion.
Both Anarkali and Salim get shocked and hurt to hear the announcement. Salim gets up abruptly and walks out of the celebration looking angry and disgruntled. Rukaiya Begum smirks evilly witnessing this scene.
Jodha gets puzzled with Salim’s behaviour and asks him if he is not happy with the tie up. Salim answers that he never said he was interested in Man Bai. Jodha reminds him of the confession he made before Jalal about liking the girl with peacock jewelry. Salim remembers the moment when he saw Man Bai and Anarkali both wearing the peacock jewelry at the same time. He does not answer Jodha's question and buys time to think about the alliance with Man Bai.
On the other hand, Anarkali goes to the spot where her parents had taken shelter. She shows the gold coins to her mother Zil but gets shocked to see her in a state of mourning. Zil tells Anarkali of Rashid’s demise. Anarkali falls down lamenting her lot and sobs endlessly on her father’s dead body. Their condition gets worse as no one in Agra agrees to give a piece of land to bury the dead body of a ‘traitor’ like Rashid.
Anarkali tells Zil that she will shoulder her father’s dead body even if she is not his son.
Back at the palace, Jalal goes out for political work and decides to postpone Salim and Man Bai’s engagement till his return. Jodha heaves a sigh of relief thinking that in the meanwhile she will try finding out what Salim is up to.
Will Salim open up to his mother Jodha about his love for Anarkali? How will Anarkali come out of her traumatic situation?
