Jodha Akbar: A grown-up Salim re-enters the palace; causes stir in the royal household!

A new chapter in the life of Jodha, Akbar and the heir Salim has begun as Zee TV’s historical drama has taken a leap of 7 years now.

In the latest episode of the show, we saw a teenaged Salim returning to the palace of Agra at his grandma Hamida Banu Begum’s behest.

The royal ladies get on their feet with full gusto to make arrangements to welcome the heir from his exile. The grown-up Salim (Ravi Bhatia) enters the palace gates with loud cheers and drumbeats.

His mother Jodha, overwhelmed with happiness to have her son back, waits to embrace him but that does not happen.

Salim does approaches her and as a mark of respect touches her feet, but he makes it a formal gesture by calling Jodha as Mariam-Uz-Zamani instead of Mother.

To add insult to Jodha’s injury, Salim lovingly meets Rukaiya and refers her as Ammi (Mother).

Jalal, however, chooses to test his son’s skills first before allowing him to enter the household.

He challenges Salim for a sword fight and the latter accepts the offer. While Jalal begins the fight by overpowering Salim, soon, the young heir gets aggressive due to the hatred nurtured by him against his father and manages to defeat as well as wounding him.

Jalal appreciates his son’s expertise in sword fighting and overlooks the seeming grudge in his eyes.

The royal family ushers in Salim and pampers him with a grand feast.

Inside the palace, some princesses and other girls dress up well to impress the crown prince Salim.

And Salim, on the other hand, is shows suffering from bouts of nervousness and anxiety and then taking to opium to calm himself. He admits that in all these years, everything has changed except his opium addiction.

Will Jodha and Jalal get to know about this truth? Will Salim warm-up to his parents in the coming times?
