In the historical series, so far, we had seen the equation between Akbar and Salim getting worse due to the latter’s increasing misunderstandings regarding his father's mystery-ridden actions.

Fed up with everything, Salim goes about renouncing heirship in the latest episode.

He steps out of the palace in a state of distress to find solace beyond the suffocating walls of the fortress. He goes out exploring the city and comes across Fatima Bi, the old woman, whose grandson Qadir was left wounded by Salim in childhood.

Salim feels elated to see Fatima Bi and she escorts him to her humble hut to meet a grown-up Qadir. The Prince gets happy to catch up with Qadir and inquires about his life. Qadir tells him that he is trying to make his ends meet by working as a security guard.

Salim takes pity on Qadir and promises to get him a post in the royal army. On Salim’s order, Qutub writes a letter to the King Jalal asking a position for Qadir in the army.

Although Jalal gets happy to fulfill Salim’s wish, Birbal tells the king not to do so. A shocked Jalal asks the reason behind Birbal’s suggestion. Birbal explains it to Jalal that Salim will be left with no other option but to accept heirship if his application for Qadir acceptance in the army is declined by the King's office.

Jalal likes Birbal’s idea and follows the counsel to the T. However, Salim gets further miffed with Jalal’s stand to refuse his request.

He goes out seeking Rukaiya who tells him to accept the position of heir apparent to help Qadir. Salim, impressed with Rukaiya’s goodness, praises her and places her above Jodha in terms of nobility. He also mentions that it is only her who is trustworthy, and others, including that girl, have only hurt him. Rukaiya inquires more about that girl in Salim’s life and he tells her that the girl is Nadira who reappeared in his life as Anarkali. He makes it clear that he is no longer willing to stay in the palace. But Rukaiya asks him to stay back till Jodha and Jalal's marriage anniversary.

Rukaiya finds the chapter of Anarkali interesting and grins evilly as soon as Salim departs.

On the other hand, to unite Anarkali with her lover Qutub (Salim), her loving father decides to leave for Agra ignoring all those insults hurled upon him by the citizens of Agra years ago.

How will Anarkali react to realise that Qutub is none other than her arch nemesis Salim? Will hatred in Salim’s heart continue to grow for his parents?
