In every household, more so in a joint family system, a certain set of rules, thoughts, values and one all-encompassing philosophy co-exists with the residents. While the gen-next is seen more in tune with the need to change with the changing times, the older ones are unwilling to let go their attachment for archaic rules.

‘Mere Angne Mein’ is based on the clash of ideology between two people having a gap of two generations between them. So, on one hand is Shanti Devi (Krutika Desai), the dominating matriarch of the Shrivastav family, who lives by running the family on her own terms; on the other hand is Riya Saxena (Ekta Kaul), Shanti Devi’s granddaughter-in-law who is strongly roots for a democratic household. The show depicts the interesting chemistry as a clash occurs between these two strong-willed women. Known actors like Varun Badola, Sucheta Trivedi, Ananya Khare and Karam Rajpal will be seen adding their own charm to the story.

Commenting on this, Krutika Desai said, “Mere Angane Mein revolves around the life of Shrivastav family. Often, families are faced with a question – do we move with changing times or hold on to what we know? It is about ideologies and how it affects the life of each family member. There is no right or wrong, there is only what works best for you - and this is the thought behind the show. This show will very clearly showcase these ideologies and how two people of two different generations come face to face and stand by it.”

Varun Badola, who is going to bounce back to small screen after a brief sabbatical, said, “After doing variety of shows on television I have come across a very different show that actually works parallel to what the youngsters of the Indian families believe in. While the younger generation believes in change the receptive older generations gives them. I am really excited and looking forward to this show.”

What else, ‘Mere Angne…’ is going to be the first fiction show to be aired on Star Plus for one hour! This will be done via a new-age production technique comprising a multi-camera set up and pre-shoot scene rehearsals with all actors.

Let's see if this turns out to be another saas-bahu soap or will offer something new on our platter. Catch ‘Mere Angne Mein’ which launches on 15th June, every Monday to Saturday at 5:30 PM only on STAR Plus!
