Diya aur Baati Hum: When Chhavi broke a perfume bottle worth Rs. 20, 000 during her wedding shopping…
We were not expecting Sandhya’s sis-in-law Chhavi to be a spendthrift considering the fact that Bhabho does not believe on overspending on even basic utilities like groceries.
We know Bhabho has the habit of pulling up her bahus when they end up overspending on household items. However, Chhavi’s extravagance really shocked her in the recent episode of the show.
What exactly happened that Chhavi was shopping at a local market for her wedding make-up. Right from perfumes to lipsticks and nail paints, Bhabho’s daughter dearest had put choicest of beauty products into her shopping basket. After the loot, she paid a bill of Rs. 15, 000 approx!
Despite all the goodies filled in her shopping bag, a high-end perfume caught her fancy. Noticing Chhavi eyeing that perfume, the pushy salesgirl forced…err…requested her to test the fragrance. Chhavi could not refrain from checking out the perfume but had no courage to buy. Why? Because the cost of the perfume turned out to be a whopping Rs. 20, 000!!
While putting a tight control on her desire, Chhavi put it down and picked up her bags. But to her horror, the high-end perfume bottle fell down mistakenly by her.
Left with no other choice but to pay for the damage, poor Chhavi tried calling up her generous brother Sooraj for help but in vain she could not reach him by phone. Suddenly, there came Kavita, Sooraj’s runway bride, to help her out of the trouble.
Kavita paid the store for the loss on Chhavi’s behalf and Chhavi left her thanking for her kindness.
Obviously, matters like these don’t go unnoticed from the nosy Meenakshi, who reported the whole thing to Bhabho. The Angry Old Woman beseeched Chhavi for committing a crime “that she can’t atone for even by taking 7 births” as she took the money from Kavita to save herself.
Now that we have described all that has happened in the show till date, we want to throw light on some situations that we could not figure out.
1. Why the hell Chhavi would need to spend Rs. 15,000 on her make-up only?
2. Why would a bottle of perfume cost Rs 20, 000? Even the ones by luxury brands don’t amount for more than Rs. 10, 000. And on top of that, why would a local beauty shop sell that kinda perfume on earth? Aren’t showrooms located in shopping malls exclusively sell the original variety?
3. Is Kavita a desperate stalker as she pops up from nowhere right at the time when any member of the Rathi family is in problem?
It looks like it is futile to ask these questions as logic does not work in our TV soaps. No?
