Diya aur Baati Hum: Rathi family in trouble as Suraj’s shop ‘owner’ demands his property back!
After her evil gimmicks surfaced before everyone, the Rathi family did not lose time to bid good riddance to the nasty Kavita.
She walked out of the house defeated and angry, and finally, the Rathis heaved a sigh of relief after getting rid of her.
In the next few scenes, we saw the ideal wife Sandhya upholding her husband’s honour by ironing his clothes herself. Why? Because her attendant, Lakshman, had not ironed Sandhya’s work uniform with an iron pot ‘coz there was no electricity to use the electric iron, but he had left out Suraj’s clothes thinking that he is of lesser importance.
The dutiful wife Sandhya took offence at Lakshman’s attitude and went on to iron her hubby dearest’s clothes by her own self. Lakshman realized his folly and asked for forgiveness. Looking at Sandhya’s loving gesture, a strong wave of affection ran in Suraj’s heart. When he asked Sandhya not to get angry over small matters, she replied that his self-respect is more important than her own self-respect. Wow!
In the next scene, a man claiming to be the son of the shop owner that is run by Suraj for his sweets business, meets the Rathis and demands his property back.
This shocks the entire family as they had already paid the required amount to buy the shop from the real owner. However, the man refuses to budge from his stand and threatens them of dire consequences if they don’t give what is his. Sandhya tries consoling Bhabho and asks if the property papers are with her. Bhabho answers that unfortunately the papers got burnt in a fire the caught their house some time back. Everybody is tensed and looking for a way out of this new issue.
