Diya aur Baati Hum: 9 Jan, Sandhya's first day as an IPS trainee officer
Sandhya uses Suraj's gift - a mobile phone to set an alarm for the next morning - her first day as an IPS trainee officer. She's very sad to be so distant from him and so is he. For a greater part of the train journey home, Suraj keeps thinking about Sandhya while in her dorm room, Sandhya falls asleep thinking about her husband.
The next morning she wakes up and gets ready in a rush to reach her training ground by 5 AM. On her way to the field, as she passes the trophy, she is reminded of her commitment to Bhabho and makes a mental note of putting in her best in the coming 11 months.
On reaching the field, she sees not even one cadet and starts double guessing the location of the training. But soon she sees the other cadets swarming through and realizes that she's the first one on the field! All the cadets assemble and the training officer begins her speech. Strictly, she informs all the trainees that they must put in their best at all costs - whether individually or as a squad. And she gives the first ever task of training to the cadets - a 1600m non-stop run.
