‘Bigg Boss 8’ Day 61: Equation turns bad between Upen, Diandra & Karishma; Puneet bags the captain’s role!

The episode begins with a night chat on Day 60 between Dimpy, Pritam, Renee and Upen regarding Ali. Dimpy speaks in favour of Ali whereas others argue how double-faced the man is.

The next morning, BB announces a competition between the contenders for captaincy but prior to that all the housemates are asked to unanimously choose a third contender for the captaincy post.

After a long discussion, an eager Karishma is chosen as the third nominee. Dimpy, who tries hard to get maximum votes from the inmates, feels bad to note Ali giving his vote to Karishma instead of her.

She sobs behind the couch in Gautam’s company and reveals how bad she felt when Ali did not vote for her despite the fact that she stood for him on many occasions.

Ali realises he has hurt Dimpy and shares his feelings with Pritam and Renee. He reasons that he voted for Karishma ‘coz she has been in the house for a long time, hence she deserves his vote more than Dimpy. He also says he has an issue with her nature which she needs to change to qualify for captainship.

Nigaar and Diandra talk about the same matter in the wash room. Nigaar says when she did not raise her hand for the captain’s role then there is no reason for Dimpy to vie for it.

Ali faces Dimpy and tries pacifying her but she dismisses him by saying that she is in no mood to entertain him.

BB hands out a new task to fight for the role of captaincy. The contenders Karishma, Puneet and Upen have to convince others to part with their personal items to make the nominee of their choice win.

Upen seeks Diandra and tells her to get ready with the things she would want to give him. But Diandra sorts out her things for Karishma and says she would tell Upen that Karishma needs her support the most this time.

With begging eyes, Upen sees Praneet too and convinces him to give away some of his things for him. However, Praneet tells Pritam that he wishes to give a chance to Puneet to see how he fares as the house captain.

At 2.30 pm the task begins as the alarm goes on. All the contestants assemble in the bedroom and try piling on as many things as possible on three weighing scales belonging to the three nominees.

While Karishma and Puneet’s weighing scales get piled on in no time, Upen stands watching his empty scale with a sad face.

Gautam, instead of supervising the task gets busy in helping Puneet in building up his share of belongings.

After sometime, some housemates begin adding things to Upen’s scale too. Ali adds shoes to Upen’s weighing scale and manages to raise the total weight to 10 kgs.

Finally, Upen manages to collect approx.10 kg luggage with the help of others. BB ends the task and asks Gautam to tell which contender managed to collect maximum luggage in minimum time. Gautam chooses Puneet as the winner and BB instantly gives the right of captaincy to the chosen one.

Afterwards, an upset Upen sits in the porch alleging Diandra for parting with her luggage solely for Karishma’s sake. Diandra says that since Karishma has never been the captain, she deserved more support than him. Upen whines like a stubborn child and argues with Diandra for the same reason. Diandra goes away in a miffed mood without budging a bit from her stand.

Things get sour between Upen and Karishma too when he approaches her for a discussion and begins arguing with her as well. He argues why Karishma did not give up her ambition for captaincy for his sake. Karishma gets angry with Upen’s argument. She says she deserved a chance as the next captain and going by the fact that Upen has already served as a captain, he should have understood the point. When Upen ceases to ague, Karishma hurriedly goes away and asks him to come back to her when she is in the mood to talk.

In the changing room, Nigaar tells Karishma and Diandra that they would have won had Upen played along. She points out that they are no longer a close knit group whereas Puneet’s group is more united as was visible during the task. Nigaar also blames Gautam for ignoring his role as the facilitator of the task to pile on things on Puneet’s scale. She alleges Gautam for being biased towards Puneet throughout the task and neglecting his duty by focusing on helping Puneet.

Sometime later, Gautam and Diandra resume flirting again in the changing room. Gautam coaxes Diandra to apologise to him on camera for badmouthing and abusing him unreasonably many times earlier. Diandra tactfully and smilingly tries ignoring Gautam’s request for apology saying that she still needs to wait as the “psycho Gautam” may return again. After some sweet argument, the duo shares a cozy hug.

In the evening, BB announces the inmates to play a game for the luxury budget items. The contestants are asked to pick up the things and pass them on with their mouth without using their hands. While Puneet is given the duty to pick the products, Nigaar has to stand as the final recipient at the other end of the row.

The task begins on an enthusiastic note but BB cancels it when the housemates fail to abide by the rules of the game. The housemates get sad to know that they won;t get any luxury food item for the following week.

After dinner hour, Ali is seen poisoning Upen’s mind and inciting him against his friend Diandra by pointing out how smartly she has changed her game. He scares Upen by saying that his position in the game is at risk and advises him to use such tricks that would help him in winning the BB game by hook or by crook.
