Balika Vadhu: Date raped Saanchi gears up for a legal battle with Saurabh
We know how the gullible Saanchi fell prey to charms of the pretentious Saurabh who date raped her at a farmhouse party only to satisfy her lustful desire.
Although Saanchi’s family pities her for what she has been forced to go through at the hands of Saurabh, little do they know that the bad guy is giving threatening calls to her regarding the obscene MMS he shot while she was getting raped.
Still, a scared Saanchi gathered some courage to share this secret with her sis-in-law Anandi, who went to threaten Saurabh bothering Saanchi. On being asked about the MMS, he denies doing any such thing and shows Anandi his mobile phone to clarify her doubts. Anandi checks through every content of the phone but finds nothing like an MMS. Later, Saurabh is shown speaking up about how he fooled Anandi by sensibly changing his mobile phone at the last minute before meeting her. He also vows to traumatize Saanchi by showing the video again and again!
Good Samaritan Anandi suggests her to tell everyone in the house about the whole affair to save herself from maximum damage. Saanchi fears losing faith of her family by telling all to everyone but Anandi argues that her family will stand by her like a rock if she tells them the entire truth.
Thus, convinced by her SIL’s counsel, Saanchi goes at tea time next morning to tell her family about herself and Saurabh. Hurt by what she heard from her daughter, Ira rebukes Saanchi for making them feel sorry before the world with his insensitive actions. Alok and Anandi favour judicial way to take Saurabh to task, while, Ira says not to take this route for the sake of family honour.
However, Alok tries pacifying Ira by telling him about the legal procedure which keeps the rape victim’s name under wraps.
Saanchi declares that she is ready to risk anything for justice’s sake hereon.
For sure, it is a step well taken by the Shekhar family to deal with the culprit.
