Mahabharat: Serpent King Takshak agrees to be with Kaurvas, Arjun & Karna’s face-off begins
In a last attempt to salvage their lives and emerge victorious, Shakuni and Duryodhan have managed to agree serpent king Takshak to help them win the war, albeit against Karna’s counsel.
Takshak, who has now returned with renewed powers to settle old scores with the Pandavas, has agreed to help the Kauravas.
He has offered that on Karna’s call he shall get into the arrow to be shot by him on Arjun in the battlefield.
Karna disagrees to this proposal citing that he is capable to killing Arjun on his own but Shakuni and Duryodhan push him to give his consent.
The next day, as Karna gets ready for the war, he is visited by mother Kunti. Sh brings a sword with her and requests Karna to kill her with it as she can’t bear seeing her son dead. Karna tells her that being the mother of a warrior, she should not be afraid to see her son dead in the battle as mothers are a source of power for their braveheart sons. He further says that after the day’s battle, Kunti will still be known as the mother of five sons as either he or Arjun will survive the duel. Kunti asks whether she should reveal the truth about Karna’s identity to his other brothers. But Karna disagrees. Kunti, however, blesses him and goes away.
In the war field, King Shalya, who has been reluctantly playing the role of Karna’s car driver, starts badmouthing him and demotivates him by saying that he shall fail even if he fights with Arjun in hell. These remarks irk Karna and he asks Shalya to keep quiet. But Shalya continues to taunt Karna.
As a result, Karna steps down from his chariot. Arjun too tries getting down of his chariot but Krishna tells him not to do so as Karna’s action implies that he has given up.
In the next episode, we will come to know how Arjun manages to survive Takshak’s poisoned arrow shot at him by Karna. And how Karna gets killed eventually.
