Mahabharat: Bheem kills ‘Ashwathama’ but Guru Drona still reluctant to hang his boots!
In the ongoing war between the Kuru princes in Star Plus’s Mahabharat, Krishna’s ploy to weaken Drona by getting Ashwathama killed has been doing well.
In the recent episode, Yudhistir and Bheem decide to kill an elephant named Ashwathama as to Drona’s namesake son is impossible due to his invincibility. When the news of Ashwathama being killed by Bheem reaches Drona’s ears, he refuses to believe and seeks out Yudhistir to confirm the fact. For the sake of righteousness, an otherwise truthful Yudhistir answers Drona that indeed he has seen Ashwathama getting killed. Hearing this, Drona gets furious and vows vengeance and threatens to kill the Pandavas.
Krishna intervenes at this juncture and asks Drona if his son only means everything to him. Drona replied in affirmative. Krishna tries to make a point by saying that Drona indeed fulfilled his son’s wishes but he failed to teach him righteousness, truthfulness and culture. He further says that his son Ashwathama may have born as an immortal but his impure deeds have degraded his soul.
Meanwhile, there is Drupad’s son Dhristadyumna who is gearing up to avenge his father’s death at the hand of Drona, in the battlefield. We have some more updates lined up. So stay tuned.
